2. The Grip: Grip the bat with your fingers, not on the palms, and relax.

3. Where to stand in the batters box: Means to have complete plate coverage.

4. Batting Stance and Balance: Your batting stance has to be comfortable for you.

  • Place your feet shoulder width apart
  • Stay relaxed.
  • A little flex in the knees reduces tension
  • Balance means having your weight centered over the middle of your body

5. Seeing the pitch with both eyes: Turn you head to see the pitcher with both eyes.

6. Pulling your head off the ball: Get into the habit of seeing the ball hit the bat.

7. Knowing the strike zone: An imaginary area over home plate between the batters knees and his armpits.

8. Seeing the ball from the pitchers hand: See plenty of live pitching to recognize the release point.

9. Bring your hips into the swing: Rotating your hips generates greater bat speed and power.

10. The baseball swing:

  • Have a natural stride towards the pitcher landing softly.
  • Extremely important when the front foot lands, the hands should be back.
  • Turn on your back foot.
  • Start your bat forward drive the knob down toward the ball follow through with your swing.

11. Remember to relax: Holding the bat with a loose top hand helps you to be loose up top. You will automatically tighten up when you swing.
